Ferndown Cattery was constructed after many years working in the pet boarding industry and working with cats in particular. The chalets are built to the latest Feline Advisory Bureau recommendations and conform to the exacting standards of East Dorset District Council. Indeed we exceed their requirements by providing larger sleeping accommodations and bigger exercise runs for every cat.
In addition, all of the chalets have ceramic tiled floors. Each has a fixed sleep shelf raised up off the floor to ensure the sleeping area is draught free. This shelf is lined with a deep pile pet fleece for added comfort but please also bring your cat's own bed or special blanket to make their surroundings feel more familiar. Heating is provided by a guarded tubular heater fitted with a digital thermostat to ensure a comfortable temperature is maintained day and night, all year round.
Externally each exercise run has a large timber bench for your cat to sunbathe on or just watch the world go by. Every chalet looks out onto a part of the garden and cats can also look across and make faces at their neighbours across the way. There is a sisal scratch board fixed to one wall of the run for those who like a daily manicure. Please don't let this stop you bringing along your cat's own scratch post, favourite toys and indeed anything you feel will help him settle in and have a wonderful holiday of his own.
If you have more than one cat, don't worry because our generous chalets have plenty of room for up to two cats from the same household. In addition we have six very large chalets which have two sleep shelves in the bedrooms and two benches in the huge exercise runs. These super sized accommodations provide for up to four cats from the same owner with extra space for all their toys.
Is your cat a fussy eater? Don't worry, we will always find something they like. We ordinarily stock most well known brands of cat food. Especially Whiskas, Felix, Kitekat, Sheba and Hilife. The biscuits we have are Hills Science Diet, Iams, James Wellbeloved, Whiskas Complete, Gocat and Royal Canin. In addition, I have tuna, white fish, chicken, pet mince and sardines and if none of that will tempt your feline, I will scour the supermarket until I find something that will.
If your cat is on a special diet that has been prescribed by your vet, you will need to bring this in if you want your cat to continue with this diet whilst they are with us. We will also administer any tablets, eye drops, injections and other medications which have been prescribed by a vet. Just bring them in a clearly marked container along with written instructions.

Travelling along the main RINGWOOD ROAD in Ferndown towards Tricketts Cross roundabout, the Cattery is located 700 metres from the fire station on the right-hand side. Look for the bright blue wall.
From Trickett's Cross roundabout, heading towards the fire station, the Cattery is approx. 600 metres along on the left hand side.
Opening Times: 10am - 6pm Monday to Saturday.
2pm - 6pm Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Pricing: 1 Cat = £8.00 per day.
2 Cats = £12.50 per day.
3 Cats = £16.00 per day.
4 Cats = £18.00 per day.
Prices for more than one cat only apply when they are sharing the same chalet and ordinarily live together at home.
